    Minimum age requirement: 10 years. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

    All activities are suitable for beginners.

    Day 1: Thessaloniki Int. Airport - Lake Kerkini
    On arrival at Thessaloniki Int. Airport you will meet your guide. We will transfer you to Lake Kerkini (duration approx. 1.5 hours) where we check-in at our guest house.
    A welcome cocktail or dinner (depending on your arrival time) will follow. Your guide will inform you about the program, the lake and its nature.

    Day 2: Lake Kerkini
    Lake Kerkini is one of, if not the, premier birding site in Greece, as it is situated along the migratory flyway for birds en route to the Aegean Sea, the Balkan region, the Black Sea and beyond. More than 300 bird species, including several globally threatened or endangered species such as the Dalmatian Pelican and the Pygmy Cormorant, 27 reptile species and 12 species of amphibians have been recorded in the area.
    After breakfast we drive to the lake\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s port which is our starting point for the boat tour. We approach the wet forest watching the birds from a safe distance. Depending on the season, we can observe larger numbers of the Dalmatian and Great White Pelican, egrets, cormorants, swans, flamingos, storks and many other rare birds in the banks and the middle of the lake. In the afternoon we will start a photo tour in selected areas, where we can take pictures of the lake\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s wildlife.

    Day 3: Lake Kerkini - Xanthi
    In the morning we will visit the best lake\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s spots by canoeing. A short instruction course will follow on canoeing techniques while getting our canoes and start exploring the lake and its fauna crossing the reed beds in shallow waters. Then we will be transferred to Xanthi, where we check-in at our hotel. In the afternoon we visit the old town of Xanthi, the most well known historic town in Greece. After a short walking tour, we will have dinner at a local tavern tasting Greek and oriental Xanthi\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s dishes.

    Day 4: Nestos Straits
    Today we start for another canoeing and bird watching tour. During this tour on the peaceful waters of the Nestos River, you will have the chance to explore one of the most unspoiled areas of Greece. We will have the opportunity to watch several birds such as the Cormorant, the Black Stork and the Griffon Vulture. The tour is easy and suitable for all ages (except infants). It lasts approximately 6 hours, including two breaks the first for swimming in the river, and the second one for a picnic lunch at the sand banks. Safety is ensured by the use of lifejackets and a trained guide as an escort.

    Day 5: Nestos Delta and the Coastal Lagoons
    More than 300 bird species (72 of the recorded birds are on the Red List) have been recorded at Nestos Deltas and the Coastal Lagoons. Depending on the season we\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ll watch rare birds like the Spur-winged Plover, the Pygmy cormorant, the Greater Flamingo and the Dalmatian Pelican. The visited area belongs to the Specially Protected Areas of Wild Birds of the European Union, and to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance. After the sunset we\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ll visit a local fish tavern and then drive back to our hotel.

    Day 6: Evros Delta
    Today we\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'re going to visit the Delta of the river Evros, one of the most important wetlands in Europe. Hundreds of thousands of birds find shelter and food all year round in a diversity of habitats including coastal lakes, lagoons, sandy islets, sand dunes, marshes and swamps. More than 300 bird species have been recorded in this area, including very rare species such as the Imperial Eagle, the White-tailed Eagle and the Dalmatian Pelican.

    Day 7: Dadia Forest
    In the morning we will visit the Dadia, one of the few European feeding and breeding grounds for rare raptors, such as the Black (Aegypius monachus) and the Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus). It hosts 36 out of the 39 raptor species of Europe and 3 out of 4 European Vulture species.
    After lunch we drive to Thessaloniki and in the afternoon we\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ll enjoy together a farewell dinner at a local tavern.

    Day 8: Departure
    After breakfast, we transfer you to Thessaloniki International Airport for your return flight.
